A graduate student at the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, I’m spending the summer of 2009 doing research on community forestry, and the way management by committee has shaped both the forest and the human communities in the Kaski District of Mid-western Nepal. An enthusiast for new and big ideas, I might be in a little over my head, but I’ve been waiting to do this kind of research for years, and couldn’t be more excited to actually get a chance to dig into the science and see how I do.
I am not succinct, but I am passionate, so I hope you’ll bear with me and enjoy these, my notes from the field.
